Message: If you're at Carter lake, you will want to go to Carter lake Marina to get your firewood.. Some campsites the host will have firewood but that's not the case here.. We stayed on the south side of the lake and the marina was on the north side and it was still only a few miles apart. Easy in, easy out, to get what you need.. Firewood was three bundles for $15. It burned nice and slow. Great for campfire cooking!

Message: Carter lake marina is really nice. They have awesome amenities including a covered elevated picnic area, bathrooms, convince store, parking, gas, etc. the ramp itself is good. Not a ton of dock space, and it is a bit shallow next to the docks, but that might just have to do with currently high water levels. The lake itself is really pretty, and big enough so the crowds are not so bad. We liked it more than other front range lakes no doubt. Watch out for thunderstorms and be ready to get off the lake quick if needed, this is Colorado after all. Safe boating everyone!

Message: Carter Lake is a wonderful place to camp. Enough space between the campsites and very attentive rangers. Bathrooms were not far away however the fastest way to get to them is through other campsites which isn't always possible. Maybe add some trails? The electric worked perfectly too. Overall, great experience and would definitely come again.

Message: Nice place for picnic or if you have a boat, quiet for fishing, there is 2 other lake in the erea make sure to visit them too, the fee is 9 dollars for the camping or the whole day passes.
