Message: They fixed my aluminum lt1 head, welded and resurfaced a burn through between 3 and 5 and he found where the previous shop did not install the guides correctly so I brought the other head in to see if it was incorrect and he pulled the springs off the head right in front of me and showed me the issue with the guides and seals. Thats customer service. I have about a 1000K on them now and no problems. Done fast and I believe at a great price. Thanks G&S.

Message: Had them build a 20 valve Audi 1. 8 L head. Did a good job. They must be doing something right, the machine shop is always packed with work. Went in last week to have some Subaru heads built only to find out they closed after 40 years! Sad day. It was a cool place, not too many machine shops could do what they did!

Message: I came in here with a set of 4 pistons, rods and caps that had been causing binding issues when installed. We where able to determine quickly that the connecting rods had been mixed up from the caps. Even though the caps were labeled the pistons had been mixed up as that was not mentioned in the service manual. The pistons where promptly cleaned and Fred did a miraculous and skill-full job of matching the wear on the connecting rod and cap to each correct piston. He also checked the assemblies for out of round for the connecting rod bearings. During my short amount of time at G&S I received this critical service as well as numerous tips on the correct assembly of a short block that had been painstakingly blueprinted. Modern torque to yield fasteners were clearly explained, affordable, excellent products were recommended. I learned how to avoid errors up to 30% when torquing my bolts! When I re-installed the pistons on my crankshaft the breakaway torque went from

Message: Needed a hard to find bolt with an atypical thread count. Didn't have exactly what I needed so they modified/made one right then and there. Price for such a specialty? Much less than excepted. Very helpful and generous, will be going back for any parts/machine shop needs. Could roam around in the store for an hour checking out stuff seemingly dating back to the 70's. Cool place, great people.

Message: They did a Subaru 2. 5 engine rebuild for me and they did a great job, this was a few years ago and it's still going strong. Machine shop does nice work and Carl is great finding old parts. Will keep using them!

Message: I had a great experience with G & S. I had them re-tap / clean up threads on a flywheel. I also picked up some garage essentials and some specialty hardware. Service was top notch, the guys at the front desk were easy to talk to and communicated well. The machine shop had the job done in the time they said it'd be done and the work looked really good. Price was a little high but for a local shop, the turn around time and attention to detail they provided it was worth it. I also appreciated their hours Monday through Saturday. I'll be going back for any machine shop work in the future.
